The Impact Investor

I am currently recording “The Impact Investor: Lessons in Leadership and Strategy for Collaborative Capitalism,” by Cathy Clark, Jed Emerson, and Ben Thornley.

I had, of course, heard of loosely defined terms such as “Corporate Responsibility,” and “Green Investing” before, but this book has really opened my eyes to what seems to be the beginnings of a revolution in investing habits, where capital funds are looking not just to turn a profit, but to have their investments make a meaningful impact on society; where what were traditional “off-balance-sheet” concerns, like workers health, and supply chain impact on the environment, are taken into consideration. As we inevitably live within a capitalistic, corporate driven culture, this book gives me hope that rather than sowing the seeds of our destruction, capitalism contains the forces of our salvation.
