I’m wonderfully, crazy busy at the moment — but more on that in another post. I just wanted to interrupt my internet silence to let you know that two books I narrated are semi-finalists in the Goodreads Reader’s Choice Awards of 2014, being voted on right now.
First, Mark Lawrence’s funny, and compelling “Prince of Fools,” is in the running for best Fantasy novel.
Second, Pierce Brown’s amazing “Red Rising,” is in both the Best Author Debut Category (should win, absolutely), and in the best Young Adult Fantasy/Sci-Fi Category. (If you’ve read, or listened to “Red Rising,” you may, like me, find that last category a bit puzzling). Awesome news!
Congratulations to Mark Lawrence and Pierce Brown respectively.
“Red Rising” is also listed #32 in the top 200 books of 2014, and “Prince of Fools,” is listed #135.
Two other authors with whom I’ve had the privilege of working are also represented in these semi-finals, and their fantastic books happen to be read by personal friends of mine (!): “Sand,” by Hugh Howey, (the audiobook is read by Karen Chilton) and “Hollow World,” by Michael J. Sullivan (read by the incomparable Jonathan Davis).
Tana French’s “The Secret Place,” the 5th book in her Dublin Murder Squad series, (of which I read #3, “Faithful Place”), comes in as the 87th most popular book of the year. Congrats Tana!
